Lagos Museum will have summer with thematic meetings, workshops and 93rd birthday celebrations

Thematic cycles of meetings, creative activities and the celebration of the 93rd anniversary are part of the Lagos Museum's program for July, August and September, months in which the public will be invited "to get involved and participate actively" in discovering the collections of the museum.

On the 22nd of July, 19th of August and 16th of September, all of them Saturdays, at 10:00 am, the “Summer Meetings Cycle” will take place, which «will have the presence of specialists from different areas of interest, sharing their views and knowledge with the public», according to the Câmara de Lagos.

On the 12th of August and the 9th of September, also Saturdays, the museum proposes a «ceramics workshop, which brings together tradition and art to give free rein to the participants’ creative “self”.

On the 23rd of August, the 93rd anniversary of the Museum will be celebrated and there will be a new edition of the “Ciclo À Conversa no Museu”.

«On this day, a doctor and an art historian are invited to talk about the paintings that fill the sections of the walls of the Church of Santo António. What secrets will they reveal?”, says the municipality

On August 29, the “Open Day at Monte Molião” will take place, with the presentation of the results of the 2023 excavation campaign.

The Museum will also take the sessions of the “Memory in Action” project to each of the parishes in the municipality of Lagos, «with the aim of recording and preserving testimonies, objects, experiences and knowledge of those who have made the recent history of the municipality of Lagos happen.
