GNR detained 41 people in a week across the Algarve

41 people were arrested in a series of operations "to prevent and combat violent crime, road inspection, among others" that the GNR carried out in the Algarve, in the week of 17 to 23 July.

Last week, which ended with the International Motorcycle Faro, many of the arrests were linked to illegal driving, namely driving without a license (17) and driving under the influence of alcohol (10).

Six people were also arrested for drug trafficking, having seized "57,5 doses of cocaine, 41,53 doses of hashish, 29,24 doses of marijuana and 3,8 doses of MDMA".

In traffic inspection operations, among the 914 offenses detected, speeding (244 offenses), misuse of cell phones (77), lack of mandatory periodic inspection (65), issues related to anomalies in lighting and signaling systems (39), lack or incorrect use of seat belts and/or child restraint systems (20), and lack of insurance (20) stand out.

In the period under analysis, there were 163 accidents, less than in the previous week, which resulted in one serious injury and 43 minor injuries.
