Five stages, 18 thematic spaces, lots of entertainment and a focus on almonds: Feira da Serra returns «with dynamism» and «even more innovative», between the 27th and 30th of July, to the grounds of the EB 2,3 Bernardo Passos School, in São Brás de Alportel.

The description is from the vice-president of the Chamber Marlene Guerreiro, who, once again, highlights the event as «a special moment in which all people from São Paulo get involved».

Focused on gastronomy, culture and handicrafts, Feira da Serra will once again be the stage for «the best that is made in the region», says, for his part, president Vítor Guerreiro.

In addition to the main stage, where names such as Resistência, Íris, Barbara Tinoco and José Cid will perform, this year's Fair will feature novelties, such as the street area (a space dedicated to the youngest, which hosts the Youth Stage, where people from São Paulo will make their talents known), Sítio da Amêndoa (a space dedicated to valuing this Algarve product) and also the “Toca a Guardar” locker service (where people can leave their belongings and things they buy during the period they are at the fair).

As president of the organizing committee, Marlene Guerreiro points out that, this year, Feita da Serra will reach the record number of participants: around 300 initiatives, involving more than a thousand people.

«This is a fair that has a great impact and strategic importance in the economic development and in the notoriety of the municipality of São Brás de Alportel, not only in these days of the event, but throughout the year», adds the mayor, referring that the event has also contributed for new projects to be born or to settle in the municipality.

This year, the investment is 450 euros and, despite admitting that inflation could affect the number of visitors, the mayors believe that the Fair will once again receive thousands of people and break records of entries.

Regarding the highlighted product, the almond, there will be “new projects to discover. Not just in production, but also in cosmetics, for people and animals».

Also returning this year is Mar da Serra, the beach bar, which last year it was new.

«Feira da Serra is increasingly enterprising and what we notice when we challenge people is that entrepreneurs believe in this fair as an important showcase and a starter motor to present their projects – and that is one of our main objectives», said the vice-president of the São Brás de Alportel Chamber.

In this edition, there will also be a cocktail produced exclusively by Renato Pires, from São Paulo, who represented Portugal at the World Cocktails Championship.

With the aim of making Feira da Serra “an event for everyone”, there will also be a team from Santa Casa da Misericórdia and Casa de Repouso de São Brás to guide people with reduced mobility and the users of the nursing homes, who also go to the fair.

For children, identification bracelets will be available again "so that parents can rest assured" and, once again, the event will be able to receive animals again. Also new will be the barbershop stand and dog obedience demonstrations, for those who bring their pets.

Marlene Guerreiro describes this edition as «even younger», as it has more than 100 volunteers, between 14 and 25 years old.

Tickets for Feira da Serra can be purchased at blueticket, at the Town Hall treasury or at the ticket offices installed at the three entrances to the event.

The individual daily ticket costs 7 euros, for the three days it costs 12 euros and for the four days it costs 16 euros. There is also a daily family ticket for 16 euros.
