Canadian dies after feeling sick on Canavial beach

The victim's husband told the authorities that the woman "complained of severe chest pains, ending up losing consciousness"

A 51-year-old Canadian woman died this Monday, July 10, after feeling unwell when she was on Canavial beach, in Lagos. 

The alert was received at 15:15.

Immediately, the picket of the Local Command of the Maritime Police of Lagos and the elements of the “SeaWatch” Project, as well as the elements of the Medical and Resuscitation Vehicle (VMER) of INEM.

As it is a difficult beach to access, the support of a maritime-tourist vessel that was nearby was requested to transport the victim to the Port of Lagos, where the members of the Maritime Police picket and the “SeaWatch” Project were located. ”.

The victim's husband told the authorities that the woman "complained of severe chest pains, ending up losing consciousness".

Despite attempts at resuscitation, it was not possible to reverse the situation, and death was declared on the spot by the VMER doctor.

The Public Ministry was contacted, and the body was transported by the Lagos Volunteer Firefighters to the Institute of Legal Medicine in Portimão.

The Maritime Police Psychology Office is providing support to the victim's relatives.
