Algarvians bring National BMX Championship titles

Race takes place in Figueira da Foz

Clube Bicross de Portimão and Team BMX Quarteira stood out in the National BMX Championship, in Figueira da Foz.

Team BMX Quarteira won the junior and cadet national titles through Bernardo Rocha and Lourenço Hartel, respectively. In the +23 year old women's competition Mónica Gaboleiro prevailed.

In the categories of schools, the best were the juvenile André Muller (Clube Bicross de Portimão), the children Martin Reis (Linda a Pastora Sporting Clube), the beginner Miguel Pinto (Casa do Povo de Abrunheira), the benjamim Gabriel Ivo (Clube Bicross de Portimão), pupil Diogo Rosado (Clube Bicross de Portimão), sub-15 Íris Moraru (Clube Bicross de Portimão), sub-13 Maria Pinto (Casa do Povo de Abrunheira) and sub-9 Maria Carmo (Linda Pastora Sporting Clube).

Dário Piedade (Team BMX Quarteira) won the masters title, while on the cruisers André Martins (Team BMX Quarteira), at 30-39 years old, and Bruno Berto (Núcleo Bicross de Setúbal/Knowledge Inside), at +40 years old, prevailed .

Clube Bicross de Portimão won the national team title.

In this competition, Bruno Cardoso (Ain Cotiere BMX Sodicycle) and Leonor Carvalho (Núcleo Bicross de Setúbal/Knowledge Inside) were national champions today.

The runner based in France was the strongest in the elite male category. Bruno Cardoso once again climbed to the top of the podium, winning his fourth consecutive elite national title. The podium was completed with two representatives from Núcleo Bicross de Setúbal/Knowledge Inside), Gonçalo Carvalho, second, and Adrian Moldovan, third.

The main female category, under-23 and under-17, was the scene of a surprise. Leonor Carvalho won the national title, despite still being of cadet age and having relegated to second place her teammate and great dominator of the national season so far, Rita Xufre. The third place was Matilde Melo (Linda a Pastora Sporting Clube).
