Volta a Portugal returns to the Algarve with arrival in Loulé

The last time the race was held in the Algarve was in 2018

Loulé will host the arrival of a stage of this year's Tour of Portugal by bicycle. This is the return of the emblematic event to the Algarve, where it has not been held since 2018.

The 85 euro contract between the Loulé Council and Podium, the company that organizes the competition, is already public and is available on the Base portalSuch as Sul Informação found out.

In the document, it is not specified at what stage the arrival in Loulé will take place.

By the way, Tony do Adro, president of Louletano, club that turned 100 yesterday and there is a cycling team with parchments in Volta, in conversation with our newspaper, he referred to this return of the queen velocipedic race to the Algarve region.

Moreover, the alignment of the various stages of the Tour of Portugal has not yet been publicly presented by the organization of this competition.

The last time the race took place in the Algarve was in 2018. At the time, Albufeira was the stage for the arrival of the 1st stage.

As usual, two Algarve teams will participate in the Tour of Portugal by bike: Aviludo-Louletano-Loulé Concelho and AP Hotels & Resorts-Tavira- Sporting Clube Farense.

The competition will be held from the 9th to the 20th of August.
