Trunks of carob, almond and olive trees embody the artistic installation to visit in Paderne

Can be seen from Tuesday to Sunday

The interactive artistic installation “Sons do Chão”, by Mateus Verde, can be seen until the 18th of June, at Moinho do Leitão, in Paderne, Albufeira, as part of the Geopalcos programme.

According to the synopsis, «at the root of the creation of this project, was the physical, sound and spiritual exploration of the Algarve interior. More as Earth and ecosystem than territory. More focused on the landscape and the non-human beings that inhabit it than on its people».

This is an open installation and composition to be explored and played by whoever visits it. The artist sought to encapsulate in these objects and sounds the way he experiences the natural world and his fascination with the mystery and strangeness that reside in the fundamental reality of all things.

The trunks of carob, almond and olive trees that make up the installation were collected from the bush in Paderne.

Date and Time: June 6th to 18th – Tuesday to Friday from 10:00 am to 13:00 pm, Saturdays and Sundays from 10:00 am to 13:00 pm and from 14:00 pm to 17:00 pm.

Geopalcos is a biannual initiative that involves the three municipalities (Loulé, Albufeira and Silves) promoting the candidacy of the Algarvensis Geopark aspirant the UNESCO Geopark and which takes to the interior of the Algarve multiple cultural activities, including visual arts and performing arts.
