EURES Cross-border Andalusia – Algarve motivates meeting of businessmen in Guadiana

One of the objectives is to promote labor cooperation between the regions of Andalusia and the Algarve.

The Cross-border Meeting of Entrepreneurs in Guadiana, organized by ACRAL – Associação do Comércio e Serviços da Região do Algarve and included in the EURES Transfrontier Andalusia – Algarve project, took place on the 29th of May, with an open session. 

According to the Institute of Employment and Vocational Training (co-promoter), the partnership, within the scope of EURES T AA, aims to «promote cross-border mobility, identifying, minimizing and eliminating obstacles and promoting labor cooperation between regions of Andalusia and the Algarve'. The meeting «helped to encourage, promote and boost cross-border entrepreneurship between the Algarve and Andalusia, thanks to the interventions of speakers with extensive experience in entrepreneurship and cross-border contracting».

To consolidate these objectives, businessmen representing various sectors of economic activity in the Algarve and Andalusia were invited, which, according to the IEFP, allowed for an exchange of experiences «that will help to consolidate the spirit of the EURES T AA project, that is, to support companies and people who wish to take advantage of a job opportunity or open a business in any of these regions.

At the end of this meeting, Madalena Feu, IEFP regional delegate for the Algarve, and the Provincial Secretary of SAE Huelva, summarized the results of this day of joint work.

Madalena Feu reinforced the importance of the union of all partners in a joint, aligned and networked work, in order to guarantee greater success in the pursuit of the intended objectives, having also taken the opportunity to address the next challenges of the EURES Transfrontier Andalusia – Algarve project.

The project is co-funded by the EU and is currently coordinated by the Andalusian Employment Service (SAE) in collaboration with the Institute of Employment and Vocational Training (as co-promoter) and the partners: the State Public Employment Service ( SEPE), the universities of Huelva and the Algarve, the Commission for the Coordination and Regional Development of the Algarve, the Diputación de Huelva, Mancom Islantilla, the Association for the Development of Baixo Guadiana & Odiana, Tertúlia Algarvia Association, the Guadiana Eurocity and the main business and union organizations operating in the border territory (CEA, FOE, NERA, ACRAL, CCOO Andalucía, UGT Andalucía, UGT Algarve, CGTP-IN Algarve).
