EMARP – Empresa Municipal de Águas e Residues de Portimão is marking, until this Monday, June 5th, World Environment Day with recreational activities and the offer of 7-litre buckets, at the Continente Shopping Center in Portimão, to residents who are part of the pilot area of the Selective Collection of Organics project
«The initiative is developed under the motto "Separating is easy" and aims to raise awareness of all generations to the importance of active participation by citizens in protecting and preserving the planet», explains EMARP.
The youngest will have the opportunity to participate in didactic games, set the Organic Wheel spinning, learn more about sustainable habits and win prizes.
The Selective Collection of Organic Waste project will continue to be highlighted, reinforcing the importance of separating food waste so that this waste is diverted from the landfill and transformed into 100% natural fertilizer. For this purpose, while the action is taking place, citizens residing in the pilot area can take advantage of their shopping trip to pick up a 7-litre bucket for free.
«The environmental approach extends to the Shopping Center’s tenants and restaurants through training actions that aim to raise awareness of responsible and proactive behavior in relation to resource consumption and proper waste management, with the principle of zero waste and the promotion of product circularity», concludes EMARP.
