last sunday

Hip-hop, as well as classical and contemporary music, gave sound to the performances of three hundred children and young students from dance schools in the Algarve and Ayamonte who participated in the festival “Arte sem Fronteiras”, which took place on Sunday, in Revelim de Santo António, in Castro Marim.

On stage were six dance schools in the territory – Splash Dance Crew (VRSA), Conservatório de Vila Real de Santo António, Arutla (Altura), Companhia de Dança do Algarve (Faro), Estúdio-T (Olhão), Danzarte Ayamonte (Ayamonte).

«The Art without Borders Festival had in its genesis the building of bridges between the Baixo Guadiana and other cultures, especially Ukraine. In the other editions we always had the participation of dance companies and dancers from Ukraine. Today, we are remembering Ukraine and the festival is an appeal to peace and hope, love of neighbor and the importance of uniting peoples», underlined Filomena Sintra, deputy mayor of Castro Marim.

This Dance Festival aims to «reinforce and value the work that these schools develop with young people in the territory, in addition to promoting a taste for artistic expression, by demonstrating the benefits, physical and mental, associated with the practice».

This was organized by the “Splash” School of Dance in partnership with the Municipality of Castro Marim.
