Friends of Museu do Traje organize 6 hands piano concert in São Brás

The entire trio program will be played with four or six hands

José Antonio Cubela, Doris Gameiro and Svetlana Bakushina will perform on Sunday, June 11, at 17 pm, in a 00-hands piano concert at the Costume Museum in São Brás de Alportel. The organization is in charge of the Friends of the Costume Museum of São Brás de Alportel.

With its mix of influences, this year's program includes Portuguese composers Bomtempo and Burnay, along with classical pieces by Debussy and Ravel. Showcasing their technical prowess, the trio will play the piano with just four and six hands.

Doris Gameiro is a classically trained pianist based in Fort Worth, Texas. With a passion for musical collaboration, she is also a jewelry artist who teaches piano in English, Spanish and Portuguese.

José Antonio Cubela arrives from Cuba, via Texas, being a versatile musician with an extensive solo and chamber music career. He was also a judge at national and international piano festivals and competitions.

Svetlana Bakushina is a pianist, artist and filmmaker from the Algarve who runs her own piano studio and produces independent films. She plays a variety of musical styles and is the founder and artistic director of the chamber music festival in Monchique “VilaNova”.

The entire program of the trio will be played with four or six hands, being different from most concerts that are available.

The program includes composers such as Burnay, Albert Ketelbey, João Domingos Bomtempo, Lord Wellington, Albeniz, Maurice Ravel, Jean Streabogg, Wolfgang Mozart, Carl Czerny, Sergei Rachmaninov, Debussy, Sousa.

Tickets cost 12 euros for the general public, 10 for the Friends of the Costume Museum of São Brás de Alportel.
