Algarvio Guilherme Jesus wins the last race of the Downhill Portuguese Cup

Guilherme Jesus on the podium of the fifth and final race of the Cup

Guilherme Jesus (MCF/Xdream/Municipality of São Brás) was the fastest of the elite in the fifth and final race of the Portuguese Downhill Cup (DHI) presented by Shimano, held this Sunday in Porto de Mós.

However, after a journey of 2,1 kilometers with a descent of 480 meters and a slope of 25%, Gonçalo Bandeira and Zoe Zamora (4rt) ended up being crowned as the great winners of the Cup, guaranteeing the first place in the ranking of the male and female elite, respectively.

The fastest of the elite in this last race were, thus, Guilherme Jesus (MCF/Xdream/Municipality of São Brás) and Margarida Bandeira (WildBoys/Riding Addiction).

The men's podium was completed with Tomás Barreiros (WildBoys/Riding Addiction) and Rafael Sousa (Clube BTT Matosinhos) and the women's podium with Zoe Zamora (4rt) and Joana Nunes (Sporting Clube de Travancinha – Seia).

The Porto de Mós race also saw Álvaro Pestana (Casa do Povo de Abrunheira) in men's juniors, Noa Walker in men's cadets, Rui Cabrita (Wildpack Algarve Racing) in men's master 30, Ricardo Soares (Bike Zona) in men's master 40 , Rui Cruz (MCF/Xdream/Municipality of São Brás) in the men's master 50, António Rodrigues (Casa do Povo de Abrunheira) in the men's master 60 and Fátima Vida (Ciclismo 20kms Almeirim/Restaurante O Forno) in the women's masters, where the single participant.

As for the final accounts of the DHI Portuguese Cup ranking presented by Shimano, as already mentioned, Gonçalo Bandeira stood out from the rest, having finished the five races with a total of 557 points, ahead of Jack Reading (Gravity School Racing by SR Suntour) and Tomás Barreiros (WildBoys/Riding Addiction).

In the female category, Zoe Zamora (4rt) won with 932 points, ahead of Margarida Bandeira (WildBoys/Riding Addiction) and Joana Nunes (Sporting Clube de Travancinha – Seia).

 

 

In the under-21s, Nuno Reis (Casa do Povo de Abrunheira) is the Cup winner, as is Álvaro Pestana (Casa do Povo de Abrunheira) in juniors, Noa Walker in cadets, Rui Cabrita (Wildpack Algarve Racing) in master 30, Ricardo Soares (Bike Zone) in master 40, Rui Cruz (MCF/Xdream/Municipality of São Brás) in master 50, António Rodrigues (Casa do Povo de Abrunheira) in master 60 and Fátima Vida (Cycling 20kms Almeirim/Restaurante O Forno) in female masters.

Casa do Povo de Abrunheira won the team ranking.
