The Vila Real de Santo António Chamber is promoting the municipality at the «Expovacaciones» tourism fair, in Bilbao, Spain, between the 5th and 7th of May, as part of a Turismo do Algarve stand.
The municipality of Vilareal is committed to promoting itself in the Basque Country in the year in which connecting flights between Faro and Bilbao, interrupted in 2020 due to the pandemic, will resume.
In addition to VRSA, the municipalities of Albufeira, Aljezur, Lagoa, Lagos, Loulé, Olhão, Portimão and Tavira will be present at the event, as well as a space from the Algarve Tourism Board.
For Ricardo Cipriano, vice-president of the VRSA Chamber, «the participation of Vila Real de Santo António in Expovacaciones constitutes a unique opportunity to promote the destination in the Spanish market and attract even more visitors, thus strengthening the local tourism sector and contributing to the economic development of the region".
Expovacaciones 2023 brings together «a vast tourist offer» in the areas of sport, adventure, gastronomic experiences, accessible tourism, nature and the beach, among others.
«Thousands of visitors are expected during the fair, which offers a series of tourist offers, experiences and other activities such as gastronomic tastings, contests and raffles», concluded the Chamber of VRSA.
