The Câmara de Vila do Bispo bought a garbage collection vehicle, in an investment of around 245 thousand euros.
This car «has the capacity to collect 16 cubic meters of waste and is equipped with a crane for the collection of underground containers», says the municipality.
The sides of the vehicle are decorated with a panel alluding to the awareness campaign “Lixo é no Lixo!”, which reminds citizens that the collection of monos and greens is free of charge and where the telephone number of the City Council can be read.
For the mayor Rute Silva, the acquisition of this vehicle represents an added value for the cleaning services of the City Council, «as it will allow a greater efficiency of the service provided to citizens in an essential area such as public hygiene».
