Via Algarviana will have a chair for inclusive tourism

Chair becomes available from May 23

Via Algarviana will have, from the 23rd of May, a Joelette chair – a monowheel vehicle for inclusive tourism.

With Joelette, Via Algarviana considers taking an important step towards making more people discover the natural and cultural heritage of the Algarve.

«The objective is that more and more people with reduced mobility can have the physical and mental benefits of walking in the Via Algarviana territory and experience the beauty of these natural spaces», says Associação Almargem.

The chair can be used to transport children or adults who have the help of at least two companions, who ensure driving.

«Pedestrian routes do not always take place in places with access and circulation conditions for people with reduced mobility. This chair can ride on any terrain that a mountain bike is also capable of riding. The chair is collapsible and fits in the trunk of a car», explains the association.

From the 23rd of May, the Joelette will be available free of charge, on request, to explore the Via Algarviana routes.

It can be requested by individuals, associations, institutions or tourist entertainment companies through this page.

Joelette was acquired by Associação Almargem, managing entity of GR13 – Via Algarviana, within the scope of the candidacy “Via Algarviana – (Des)involving the interior of the Algarve”, under the program “Valorizar”, Support Line for the Enhancement of Tourism in the Interior , funded by Turismo de Portugal.
