The 2nd edition of the Fado Festival of Faro takes place from this Friday, May 19, to celebrate this Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO.
On Friday and Saturday, the 20th, the program includes performances at the Municipal Museum of Faro (11:30, 14:30 and 15:30), at Igreja da Misericórdia (18:00) and at night, between 21:00 and 23:00, in several pedestrian streets in the city centre.
On Sunday, May 21st, a final gala is scheduled, at 21 pm, in Jardim Manuel Bivar.
The event is free with the exception of concerts at the Municipal Museum of Faro.
Here, the entrance fee is 8,50 euros, including, in addition to the concert, the tasting of a regional wine, a video showing the history of fado and a visit to the Museum.
This is an event organized by the Commercial Development Association of the Historic Zone of Faro, in partnership with the Associação de Fado do Algarve, with the support of the Municipality of Faro, of the Parish Union of Faro, the Santa Casa da Misericórdia and the Municipal Museum of Faro.
