University of Algarve remains in the top 2000 of the best universities in the world

In total, 20.531 higher education institutions from around the world were evaluated.

The University of Algarve remained in the top 2000 of the best universities in the world, according to the most recent listing by the Center for World University Rankings (CWUR).

UAlg ranks 7th nationally, among 13 higher education institutions evaluated.

In total, 20.531 higher education institutions from around the world (95 countries) were assessed, 743 more than the previous year. UAlg appears in position 1280, with a global score of 68.9, and, in the investigation, the Algarve academy was ranked 1224.

Since 2012, CWUR publishes the only academic ranking of universities globally, which evaluates the quality of education; employability, based on the professional success of former students; faculty quality; and research performance. Objective indicators are used for the four fundamental pillars underlying the ranking methodology (education, employability, teaching staff and research), without relying on surveys and data submission by universities.

The Center for World University Rankings (CWUR) is an advisory organization based in the United Arab Emirates that provides policy advice, strategic expertise and advisory services to governments and universities to improve educational and research outcomes.

This ranking, which started as a project in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, with the aim of ranking the world's top 100 universities, in 2019 expanded to list the top 2000 of nearly twenty thousand universities worldwide, making it the largest global academic ranking of universities.
