Union of Parishes of Faro assumes management of the Boa Esperança Cemetery

The Union of Parishes of Faro will take over the management of the Boa Esperança Cemetery, near the São Luís Stadium, under a contract signed with the City Council. 

The proposal, approved at the Municipal Assembly on the 12th of May, provides for the transfer of the operational management of Cemitério da Esperança, whose specificities and approximation to the populations, requires care that the União de Freguesias de Faro it is «strategically better positioned to, using economies of scale, provide a service that is more tailored to needs».

«A modern local administration bases its action on the effective articulation between all the organs of the local authorities, in respect for the autonomy of each one, but actively collaborating with each other in the sense of improving the services provided to the populations», says Rogério Bacalhau, president of the camera of Faro.

«That is the final objective of transferring the operational management of Cemitério da Esperança to the União de Freguesias de Faro: that this space of communion with our deceased loved ones is also a better cared for and preserved place», he concludes.
