UAlg studies collaboration in the field of tourism with a Macau institution

Delegation from the Institute for Tourism Studies of Macau visited the Faculty of Economics of UAlg

The Faculty of Economics of the University of Algarve is studying the possibility of creating a partnership in the area of ​​tourism and training with the Institute for Tourism Studies of Macau, whose representatives were at the Algarve university.

The delegation of the Macanese institution and the UAlg explored «the possibility of establishing a collaboration that stimulates advanced research in tourism, the creation of a partnership in terms of the existing offer of masters courses and, also, the creation of a program in co-supervision at the level of the third cycles (doctorates)'.

«The materialization of this agreement will allow UAlg, which currently occupies the second place in national research in Tourism and is part of the top 100 worldwide, according to the Shanghai Ranking, to associate itself with an institution that occupies the first position in this area of ​​knowledge in the Asian continent, according to the QS World University Rankings, and tenth in the world», according to the University of Algarve.

The Macau Institute for Tourism Studies delegation was led by its president, Fanny Vong, who was accompanied by the vice president for Academic Affairs, Connie Loi, and by the director of the School of Tourism Management, Doctor, Max Zhao.
