Work on the requalification of the Urban Center of São Brás de Alportel has already advanced

The second phase will focus on António Rosa Brito, Silva Nobre and Virgílio Coelho streets

Work on the first phase of the Requalification of the Urban Center of Vila de São Brás de Alportel began this Monday, May 15th.

The works focus on Boaventura Passos, 25 de Abril, Silva Nobre and Bernardo de Passos streets, arteries surrounding the Municipal Market, central nucleus of the community's social and economic life.

Awarded to the company JJ Brito, Sociedade de Construções, for the amount of 495.321,13 euros, this municipal investment aims to "modernize the public space, give new impetus to the local economic dynamics and better quality of life for the people of São Paulo", says the municipality, adding that the work should be completed by the third quarter of this year.

«Aware of the constraints that traders and residents may feel during the execution of the works, the municipal executive, together with the builder, are looking for the best solutions to minimize these impacts», says the Municipality, which, in this context, promoted a presentation session of the project and more recently meeting with traders, who had the opportunity to convey their concerns and suggestions to minimize the impact of the work.

The exemption from public space occupancy and advertising fees for all establishments located in the intervention area until the end of the work is also one of the support measures implemented in this regard.

In a note, the municipality recalls that this work «is part of an urban renewal strategy that began with the requalification of Largo de São Sebastião, Rua Gago Coutinho and Avenida da Liberdade. The second phase will focus on António Rosa Brito, Silva Nobre and Virgílio Coelho streets.
