Loulé lives Climate Week

Climate Week ends with the Mercado da Vila – Special Climate, on Sunday, May 14, at Av. Tivoli, in Vilamoura, from 10 am to 00 pm

Loulé will experience, from this Monday, May 8, the “Climate Week”, with various activities. 

The initiative starts with a visit to nest boxes in Vilamoura, on Av. Engineer João Meireles. But from 10:00 am, and throughout the day, it is at Cineteatro Louletano that these themes will be in focus, in the IV Journeys of Sustainability.

«Municipal leaders and technicians meet to discuss how this matter influences the day-to-day work of the Loulé Council and how local policies are being assimilated and implemented by the services», says the municipality.

On the 9th, from 10:00 am to 12:30 pm, at the Loulé Library, the participatory session “Co-management of the Ria Formosa Natural Park” will take place.

In 2021, the Co-Management Commission for the Ria Formosa Natural Park was set up by the municipalities of Loulé, Faro, Olhão, Tavira and Vila Real de Santo António, and which aims to create a shared dynamic for valuing the protected area, based on its sustainability and focusing specifically on the fields of promotion, awareness and communication.

On the morning of Wednesday the 10th, the new generations are invited to follow the Climate Journeys at Loulé Secondary School.

On the same day, two awareness actions are scheduled: one on the Forest, at the Advanced Civil Protection Unit of Vale Maria Dias, and another on “Food Sovereignty”, at the Quarteira Market, passing through the Almancil Market the following day.

It is on Thursday, the 11th, that Casa do Meio Dia hosts the screening of the award-winning Portuguese documentary “A Alma de um Ciclista”, which is followed by a conversation/debate on smooth cycling mobility, with emphasis on projects that, in this sense, , are being promoted in the county's schools ('School Sports on Wheels').
