Lagos: EN125 bridge over Ribeira de Bensafrim will be closed for works

The intervention will involve work on the board

The bridge over Ribeira de Bensafrim, on the EN125, at the entrance to Lagos, will be closed to traffic from the 8th to the 26th of May due to rehabilitation works.

«The contract stems from the inspection work previously carried out, at the request of the municipality, by the National Laboratory of Civil Engineering of the works of art in question» which determined «the need to carry out structural rehabilitation», says the Câmara de Lagos.

The intervention will involve work on the deck, which will mean closing access to pedestrians, light vehicles and buses.

Alternatively, circulation will be carried out through a temporary access in the entrance and exit zone of Lagos, between the Pingo Doce/Marina supermarket and the Ponte Dona Maria, also the target of deep rehabilitation works eight years ago.

For heavy vehicles, circulation will be completely prohibited on Ponte Dona Maria, so the alternative will be their circulation through the A22, using exits 1 and 2 to enter and leave the city of Lagos.

With regard to urban transport, A ONDA, during the intervention period, stops at the Sports Complex of Lagos (both directions) and S. João will be deactivated, for lines 3 (ONDA Rosa), 5 (ONDA Laranja) and 8 (ONDA Lilac), passengers should use the nearest stops.
