cities of Lagos from different parts of the planet went to Lagos in the Algarve to renew the protocol of friendship and cooperation that unites them, during the commemorative ceremony of the 25th anniversary of the “Lagos do Mundo” network, which took place on Friday, May 5th, in the auditorium of the Town Hall of the Séc. XXI.
The session was attended by delegations from cities that are also called Lagos, with which the Algarve municipality has maintained a partnership since 1998.
The session served for the representatives of the different partners to renew «their collaboration commitment and the will to involve the local living forces in these contacts, with a view to the joint promotion of projects and actions focused, namely, in the areas of arts and culture, traditions, history, tangible and intangible heritage, education, youth, sport, professional training, environment, tourism and economic development», according to the Câmara de Lagos.
The session also included the presence and participation of representatives of local cultural, recreational and sports associations, as well as school groups from the municipality of Lacobrigense, who had the opportunity to establish informal contacts with the visiting delegations.
«Conviviality and leisure were not forgotten in a program that allowed the visiting delegations to participate in the Historic Procession of the 11th Festival of Discoveries and discover the most emblematic places of the city and municipality», concluded the municipality.
