The playground in Bairro Che Lagoense do Pateiro, in Parchal, was refurbished by the Municipality of Lagoa, in an investment of around 72 thousand euros.
The works included replacing all the existing appliances with new and more modern models, replacing the floor, which was damaged, increasing the area of the park, with the requalification of the implantation area and cancellation of the access by the stairs, revision of the drains , general painting of the surrounding walls and replacement of benches.
The park in question is located in a residential area and, according to the municipality, no longer complies with the current legislation, defined for games and recreational spaces, and was found «with several gaps that compromised its safe use».
