Porches hosts the first session of the Participatory Budget in Lagoa on the 8th of May

The population will be heard in four locations in the municipality, as well as through the PB digital platform

The presentation of proposals for the Participatory Budget of Lagoa starts on the 8th of May, with a face-to-face session at the Centro Cultural D. Dinis, in Porches.

There will also be other sessions, during which the population must present their candidate projects: on the 10th of May, in the main hall of the União de Freguesias de Estômbar and Parchal, in the first of these villages, on the 15th of May, in the Pátio das Gerações, in the off the Convent of São José, in Lagoa (for the parishes of Lagoa and Carvoeiro), and finally on the 17th of May, in the hall on the 1st floor of the Municipal Market in Ferragudo. All these sessions start at 20:30.

Candidate proposals for Lagoa's Participatory Budget can also be presented at the Digital platform, between the 22nd of May and the 5th of June, announced the Municipality of this Algarve municipality.

The municipality explains that «the 2023 Participatory Budget is the continuation of what was carried out in previous years», with an amount of 300 thousand euros allocated to it.

After hearing the population in four locations in the municipality, as well as through the digital platform of the Participatory Budget, with a view to collecting proposals made by people from Lagos, these will then be voted on.

«This initiative encourages citizens to exercise the purest concept of citizenship, as a way of managing funds and public space, with a view to improving everyone's quality of life», adds the Câmara de Lagoa.
