Literary Spring will take place from the 1st to the 4th of June, in Jardim da Alameda João de Deus and in the Municipal Library of Faro, organized by the City Council of the Algarve capital.
The festival, which is organized in collaboration with the Ginásio Clube de Faro and has the institutional support of the Regional Directorate of Culture of the Algarve, is also part of the 45th edition of the Book Fair of the City of Faro.
The vast programme, available on the Municipality's website and on the Municipal Library's social networks, includes book presentations, debates with authors, story time, creative writing workshops, sessions with schools, musical and poetry shows, storytelling sessions for families , exhibitions, booktinder and games, among other entertainment moments.
All these activities take place in the areas of Jardim da Alameda – Palco Casa do Sabino and Bosque das Letras – or in the story-time room, adult room and Library Auditorium.
Also part of the Literary Spring, the 45th edition of the Book Fair of the City of Faro will take place at Alameda João de Deus, with the pavilions open to the public between 10:00 and 20:00.
The Book Fair, which had its first edition in 1976, has always had a prominent place in the municipality's cultural program and in the promotion of books and reading.
The public can permanently see the exhibitions Momento/Movimento, by Adriano Ayres, and upcyclingclothesandminds, an organization PAS and Amarelarte; Book Tinder by Associação Sê Mais Sê Melhor, and A poem in exchange for a smile, by Elos Clube de Faro.
