Trigger and Júlio Dantas School Grouping promote exhibition «... And 50 years have passed D. Sebastião!»

The exhibition results from the reinterpretation of the statue of D. Sebastião

Trigger, a social inclusion project developed by the association Questão Repetida and NECI, and the Júlio Dantas School Grouping, from Lagos, promote the exhibition «... And 50 years have passed D. Sebastião!», which is open until 24 May, from 10:00 am to 18:00 pm, at the premises of LAC – Creative Activities Laboratory, in Lagos.

The closing session will take place on the 25th of May, at 18 pm, and will include a lecture by Artur de Jesus, specialist in History at Lagos City Council, and a jazz concert by Ricardo Jesus, Sebastião Bergman and Isaque Martins

The exhibition results from the reinterpretation of the statue of D. Sebastião, by the sculptor João Cutileiro, carried out by the Gatilho Group and by the students of the 12th grade D of the Júlio Dantas School, which marks the 50th anniversary of the inauguration of the piece in the Praça Gil Eanes, in the center of Lagos.

This exhibition «emphasizes the place of the statue both in the city and in the hearts of locals and tourists, through a cultural note with a multicultural, inclusive aspect, generated by multiple partners who work for culture», explains the organization.

This project is promoted by the Júlio Dantas School Group, coordinated by Professor Pedro Rebelo, with the LAC association, through the partnership developed within the scope of the National Arts Plan, “The school embraces LAC”.

The project for social inclusion Gatilho is a project PARTIS & Arts for change, developed by Questão Repetida and NECI, in partnership with the Municipality of Lagos and with the support of the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation and the “La Caixa” Foundation.
