Gastronomy, exhibitions and traditional games mark the first day of “Vamos à Vila”

The event ends tomorrow, May 28

The second edition of the event «Vamos à Vila», in Monchique, started this Saturday, May 27, with the visit of several dozen people and Ana Abrunhosa, Minister of Territorial Cohesion.

The event, which ends tomorrow, May 28th, features exhibitions, traditional games, knitting and crochet workshops, workshops with artists, the enthronement of new members of the Confraria do Medronho «Os Monchiqueiros», and also the Camané concert tomorrow, at 18:00.

In a space where Monchique is divided into seven villages – Chorões, Largo, Crianças, Misericórdia, Igreja, Mercado and Galeria – there are still 105 exhibitors to visit from this village, but also from the rest of the Algarve and neighboring Alentejo.

In these exhibitors it is possible to find products such as local sausages, peanuts from Aljezur, local handicrafts, cheeses, and, of course, medronho brandy.

In the taverns and restaurants, there will be no shortage of the best Monchique gastronomy.
