XNUMXth Century Festival plunges Vila Real de Santo António into the past [photo gallery]

Highlights of this Saturday are the historical procession and the royal banquet

 

This Saturday, May 13th, is a big day at XNUMXth century festival which started yesterday and continues until tomorrow, the 14th, in Vila Real de Santo António. After the opening at 12:30 pm, there will be a procession at 16:00 pm, in which the most important figures of the Enlightenment city will participate, not forgetting the Marquis of Pombal and King José I.

Then, at 20:30, the XNUMXth century banquet begins, which will have, among the guests, in addition to the mayor Álvaro Araújo, the minister Ana Abrunhosa, responsible for the portfolio of Territorial Cohesion.

In the middle and throughout the day, throughout the historic center of Vila Real de Santo António, there is a lot of music, jugglers, fire-eaters, ladies and gentlemen dressed in period costumes, street theater, dances, delicacies and vendors' tents. Anyone who wants to delve into the past can even dress up at the time.

With the exception of the banquet, tickets for which are on sale at the António Aleixo Cultural Center and at the BALL, all events are free entry.
