O 9 º Faro Blues – International Blues Festival of Faro takes place on the 12th and 13th of May at Teatro Lethes. 

On the 12th, at 21 pm, the Canadian guitarist Troy Nahumko will take the stage accompanied on bass by the Spaniard Elias Martinez Gomez and they will invite some musicians associated with Blues a Sul.

«It will be a concert of sharing and friendships that characterizes this type of music», says the organization, in charge of Blues a Sul – Associação de Blues do Algarve.

To close the night, Gringo's Washboard Band (BR/PT) will perform, a Mississippi/New Orleans blues style band that will perform in a quintet with instruments such as the washboard, trumpet or double bass.

«On the 13th, the stage will belong to Wax & Boogie (ES) who will bring us Boogie Woogie and the Rythm & Blues of the 50s from Catalonia and promise to make the room dance. duo Hearts & Bones take us to the intimacy of the oldest Blues, characterized by acoustic guitars», according to the organization.

That same day, at 15 pm, there will be a workshop for all interested musicians, which will take place at the Gimnásio Clube de Faro and will be taught by Troy Nahumko.

Over the weekend, a painting exhibition entitled “Live on Canvas” will be present at Teatro Lethes, where the author, Margarida Freire, will present paintings by musicians from the Blues sphere.

These shows are organized by Blues a Sul and Teatro Lethes and have the support of the Municipality of Faro.

Tickets are for sale on here, in participating stores and at the ticket office of Teatro Lethes, located at Rua de Portugal, 58, in Faro.

The ticket price is 10 euros (daily ticket) and 18 euros for both days.
