Faro, Beja and Évora among the six districts under yellow warning due to rain and thunderstorms

The districts of Faro, Beja, Évora, Setúbal, Santarém and Portalegre are today under yellow warning, between 12h00 and 21h00, due to the forecast of sometimes heavy rain and thunderstorms, said the Portuguese Institute of the Sea and the Atmosphere (IPMA).

According to the IPMA, the forecast points to showers, sometimes heavy and accompanied by thunder and strong gusts, which could be in the form of hail.

The yellow warning is issued by the IPMA whenever there is a risk situation for certain activities dependent on the weather situation.

The IPMA forecasts for today on the continent periods of very cloudy skies, generally very cloudy in the South region, and showers, more likely in the afternoon, sometimes strong and accompanied by thunderstorms and gusts of strong wind, especially in the regions of the Center and South.

The forecast also points to wind, generally weak, becoming moderate from the northwest during the afternoon on the west coast, and sometimes blowing moderate to strong in the highlands.

A small rise in maximum temperature is also expected in the North and Center regions.

The minimum temperatures will fluctuate between 06 degrees Celsius (in Bragança) and 17 (in Faro) and maximums between 21 (in Guarda) and 30 (in Lisbon and Santarém).
