Farense secured today the promotion to the I Liga, following the defeat of Estrela de Amadora with Nacional, in a game that was played this Sunday morning, in Amadora.
The team of Faro thus returning to the top echelon of Portuguese football, where he had already played in 2020/21, joining Portimonense in the I Liga.
The Algarve had already done their part, on Friday, by beating Benfica B in Seixal with a goal in added time.
That victory put the Algarve team a foot and a half deep in the I Liga and not even a draw would serve Estrela to avoid Farense's direct promotion.
Thus, next weekend, Farense will take the field, at Estádio de São Luís, knowing that it will already be in the top echelon of Portuguese football in 2023/24.
