Farense wins in Madeira and is isolated in a place with direct access to the I Liga

Farense beat Nacional da Madeira by 0-1 in a match for the 32nd round of the II Football League, played this Sunday, May 14, at Estádio da Choupana, in Funchal. With the triumph, the Algarve are 3 points ahead of Estrela do Amadora and are isolated in 2nd place, which gives a direct rise to the I Liga.

In the first half, just after the 19th minute, the Algarve had a scare: the Madeiran  Rafael Vieira scored on the rebound from a free-kick on the right, but he was offside and the goal was disallowed.

Throughout the first half, dangerous situations followed each other near both goals. with a slight ascendant from Farense. But the match reached half-time without opening the scoring.

In the second half, Farense started to press. And he did so much that, in the 60th minute, the Algarve scored a goal. Marco Matias took a corner on the left and Cláudio Falcão scored with a header. It was delirium in the Algarve hosts.

Cláudio Falcão, the hero who scored the Farense goal, was sent off in the 66th minute, reducing the Algarve team to 10 elements.

Nacional still tried to reach a draw, but without success, with the Algarve managed to maintain the important triumph.
