A Food Bank collection campaign will take place this weekend, 6th and 7th May, in supermarkets in the Algarve.
In a statement, Nuno Cabrita Alves, president of the Banco Alimentar do Algarve, calls for “everyone's help in this cause. One hour of your day will make a difference in the days of thousands of families”.

According to the Food Bank against Hunger in the Algarve, «volunteers are essential in any of the 103 stores, spread across all municipalities in the region, where it is necessary to distribute bags and, subsequently, receive food with donations».
in the warehouses of Faro and Portimão, it is also "fundamental" to help unload food and sort it, fold bags, among other tasks.
Help can be done in stores with food or vouchers, but also here with food donations or through financial support.
