Registration is open for monitors of the Summer Holidays in Portimão

Those interested must be students between 18 and 25 years old and be available from Monday to Friday, between 8:30 am and 17:30 pm

This Monday, May 15, the Portimão Council starts the process of recruiting 130 monitors for the 2023 Summer Holidays, a municipal project to occupy free time that aims to provide children and young people in the municipality with a healthy occupation during break summer class.

Based on a program full of recreational, educational, cultural and sports offers, the initiative will take place between July 3rd and August 11th and will involve around 2500 children and young people from 6 to 15 years old.

Those interested must be students between the ages of 18 and 25 and be available from Monday to Friday, between 8:30 am and 17:30 pm, in order to integrate the team and training actions associated with the activities of this municipal project, as well as support and monitor the preparation of daily initiatives.

Experience in previous Summer Holiday programs or similar activities is valued, sports experience in collective games, including football and basketball, as well as bodyboarding, surfing, canoeing, dancing, tennis and sailing, among other modalities, as well as in ludic-pedagogical and cultural initiatives.

Determining conditions are the taste for working with children and young people, creativity, dynamism, motivation and dedicated monitoring of all activities and daily moments, without forgetting responsibility and aptitude for team spirit and mutual help.

The young people admitted will participate on the 26th and 30th of June in a training week, being subsequently distributed by the project nuclei, located in the Pavilhão Gimnodesportivo, Pavilhão Desportivo da Boavista, Quinta Pedagógica, Municipal Library Manuel Teixeira Gomes, Museum of Portimão, Teatro Municipal de Portimão , Alvor Sports Complex and Mexilhoeira Grande Sports Complex.

This experience will provide young people from the municipality with an excellent opportunity in terms of on-the-job training, contributing to the development of their personal and social skills and to enriching their curriculum, in order to enhance their entry into the job market.

In addition to personal accident insurance and a participation diploma, each monitor will be entitled to a scholarship worth 805 euros and lunch during the 2023 Summer Holidays, and registrations must be made by completing the online form, available by clicking here.
