Escola Superior de Saúde da UAlg marks International Nurses Day with training

Action took place within the scope of the initiative “Juntos pela Vida”

The Higher School of Health (ESS) of the University of Algarve organized a Mass Training in Basic Life Support, which took place at the Gambelas Campus, between 9:00 am and 13:00 pm, on the 12th of May.

The action took place within the scope of the “Juntos pela Vida” initiative and was intended to celebrate the International Nurses Day.

The theoretical part took place between 9:00 am and 10:00 am at the Teresa Gamito amphitheater, building 1, where concepts about Basic Life Support (BLS) and its importance in preventing damage to vital organs, such as the brain, were addressed. and heart, increasing the probability of survival with quality.

Theoretical training was joined by a practical complement. From 10:00 am, in the arcades of the teaching complex, trainees had the opportunity to put into practice a set of procedures that could make a difference in society in emergency situations.

Aimed at teaching staff, non-teaching staff and students, this event was trained by nurses and teachers from the ESS nursing degree course and had the collaboration of nurses from the Algarve Biomedical Center and the Centro Hospitalar e Universitário do Algarve.
