In Spain, “Algarve, ahora y siempre”

Gastronomy, crafts and cultural events throughout the year are highlighted

“Algarviate” and “Algarve, now and forever”. These are the two new campaigns by Turismo do Algarve to promote the destination in Spain, one of the priority markets for the region. Gastronomy, crafts and cultural events throughout the year are highlighted.

The “Algarviate” campaign starts on the 22nd of May and aims to publicize the creative tourism programs that make up the Algarve Craft & Food project, with emphasis on the region’s handicrafts and gastronomy.

Until the 18th of June, the campaign will be active in digital media, with a hobby, but also in outdoors and written press. The main target audiences are potential tourists from Andalusia, Extremadura, Galicia and Madrid. The campaign was created by Comunica.me.

Cultural tourism is also promoted in the campaign “Algarve, ahora y siempre”, exclusively digital, focusing on the social networks Facebook, Instagram and YouTube through a two-minute promotional video, which highlights the main cultural events that take place annually in the region .

The campaign is part of the Algarve Premium project, runs between June 19th and July 19th, and its main objective is to show that the Algarve has a diverse cultural offer throughout the year. The responsible agency is NL Creative.

«The Algarve is much more than beach, sun and summer. These campaigns intend to reinforce that in one of the most relevant markets for the Algarve – the Spanish one, with the commitment to highlight the gastronomy, handicrafts and cultural events that take place throughout the year in the region» says the President of Tourism from the Algarve, João Fernandes.

The Spanish market represented, in the pre-pandemic period, more than 400 thousand guests and more than 1,1 million annual overnight stays in tourist accommodation in the Algarve, mostly concentrated in the Easter period and in the summer months.

Both the “Algarviate” campaign and the “Algarve, ahora y siempre” campaign are co-financed by the Algarve Regional Operational Program – CRESC Algarve 2020.
