Districts of Faro and Beja under yellow warning due to strong wind between Wednesday and Friday

Between 12:00 pm on Wednesday and 12:00 pm on Friday

Faro and Beja are two of the five mainland districts that will be under yellow warning from Wednesday due to the forecast of strong wind, according to the Portuguese Institute of the Sea and the Atmosphere (IPMA).

The districts of Faro, Setúbal, Lisbon, Leiria and Beja will be under yellow warning because of strong wind with gusts of up to 75 kilometers per hour between 12h00 on Wednesday and 12h00 on Friday.

These five districts are joined, from 12h00 on Thursday and until 00h00 on Friday, by the districts of Porto, Viana do Castelo, Aveiro, Coimbra and Braga, also because of the strong wind.

The IPMA today placed the island of Madeira under a yellow warning until 18 pm because of strong wind, which can reach 00 kilometers per hour in mountainous areas.

The yellow warning is issued by the IPMA whenever there is a risk situation for certain activities dependent on the weather situation.
