CP and the Machinists' Union reach an agreement and put an end to the strikes

Ministry of Infrastructure mediated the talks between the parties

CP – Comboios de Portugal reported today that, “after a period of intensive negotiations, over the last week, it reached an agreement with the National Union of Train Drivers (SMAQ) that puts an end to the cycle of strikes that had been affecting the rail sector ».

This consensus was "reached with the collaboration of the Ministry of Infrastructure, which mediated the conversations between the parties involved", adds CP in a statement.

The agreement reached is «the result of a joint effort between the management of CP and SMAQ, demonstrating the willingness of both parties to resolve the labor dispute and ensure the continuity of services provided to passengers».

The management of CP, which claims to be «committed to the well-being of workers and the quality of services provided», thanks the Union for «the availability and commitment in the negotiations, which allowed reaching a satisfactory understanding for both parties and in favor of of the interests of the workers and the company".
