The Minister of Education announced today that the ordinance for vacancies for more than 10 teachers will be published by the end of the day and the competition should start this Wednesday, the 10th, after the enactment of the diploma.
“Today, the ordinance will be published for vacancies for the dynamic hiring of around 10.500 teachers who meet the requirements to hire this year and we are in a position to open the competition tomorrow”, said João Costa.
The Minister of Education was speaking at a press conference, at the Ministry of Education, in Lisbon, one day after the President of the Republic promulgated the new regime for the management and recruitment of teachers, approved in March by the Council of Ministers.
“This is a diploma that has as its main focus the reduction of precariousness of teachers”, defended João Costa, recalling that, between the dynamic binding and the so-called “brake rule”, which was in force previously, they will join the staff of the Ministry of Education around 10.700 teachers this year.
According to the new regime, teachers will be able to make a contract when they accumulate the equivalent of three years of service, a change that, according to the minister, will make it possible to reduce precariousness in the teaching profession by half.
