A pedestrian route along which the windows and balconies of buildings of recognized architectural and historical value in Faro serve as a stage for artists from the most varied areas of arts and entertainment. This is a summary of the «Menina Estás à Janela» initiative, which returns on Saturday, June 3rd.

Promoted by the Professional Event Organization Course at Escola Secundária Pinheiro e Rosa, this year in conjunction with the Associação Recreativa e Cultural de Músicos, the initiative presents, this year, two novelties: a permanent window in Jardim da Alameda, with the exhibition Upcycling Clothes and Mind , run by Amarelarte, which can be visited throughout the day, and the possibility of taking the Next – Transportes Urbanos de Faro, to move from the Municipal Library window, facing the Alameda garden, to the Arco da Vila window.

The event starts at 10:00 am, and throughout the morning, 16 windows will open all over the city.

This time, the route will pass by the windows of the Library, Arco da Vila, former Civil Government, Bandstand, former Zara, Club Farense, Palacete da Baixa, Mutualidade Popular, Contabilista Dr. Albino, CCDR, Hostel Casa d'Alagoa, Casa Cor de Rosa, Consulate of Brazil, Municipal Museum, Restaurante Vila Adentro and Câmara de Faro.

In the evening, performances begin at 22:00 pm at the Associação Recreativa e Cultural de Músicos, with the project “Marca de Água, Rhymes Beats and Stencil”, then with Celina da Piedade and finally with a tribute to Rita Lee.

The public can choose which windows they want to attend, simply going there individually at the indicated times.

This project is included in Culture and Education Biennial under the National Plan for the Arts.

After its debut in 2019, a successful online edition in 2020 and the success of its return to the live format in 2021, Menina Estás à Janela is back to the windows to the delight of all locals and tourists.
