83 arrested and 721 offenses detected in one week in the Algarve

Results of GNR's weekly operation between 8th and 14th of May were announced today

The weekly GNR operation, between 8 and 14 May, resulted in 83 arrests, the seizure of dozens of drug doses and the detection of 721 offences. 

Notable among the arrests 29 for driving under the influence of alcohol, 19 for driving without a legal license and 11 for drug trafficking. 

This week, the GNR seized 186 doses of cocaine, 41 doses of hashish, 18 doses of cannabis, 301 kilos of copper, 13 knives karambit, an air rifle, a dagger, two vehicles, various beach items and various bags, make-up and beauty items.

In transit were detected 721 infractions: 103 for speeding, 59 for lack of mandatory periodic inspection, 53 related to anomalies in the lighting and signaling systems, 21 for improper use of the cell phone while driving, 14 for lack or incorrect use of the seat belt and/or system child restraint and 11 for lack of liability insurance.

There was still 1 to register61 accidents, which resulted in one serious injury and 35 minor injuries.
