71 arrested and more than 300 doses of drugs seized in the last week in the Algarve

Between May 15th and 21th

The set of operations carried out by the GNR in the district of Faro, in the week of May 15th to 21st, resulted in the arrest of 71 people and the seizure of more than 300 doses of drugs. 

Of those arrested, 25 stand out for driving under the influence of alcohol, 17 for driving without a legal license and 11 for drug trafficking. 

During this period, the GNR seized 284 doses of cocaine, 50 doses of cannabis, 31 doses of hashish, 15 doses of heroin, two knives and a pistol. 

In traffic, 555 infractions were detected, of which 154 were speeding, 57 related to anomalies in the lighting and signaling systems, 50 due to lack of mandatory periodic inspection, 30 due to lack of civil liability insurance, 25 due to improper use of the mobile phone while driving and 21 due to missing or incorrect use of seat belts and/or child restraint systems.

There is still 1 to register32 accidents, of which two resulted seriously injured and 23 lightly injured.
