XXI Algarve Psychology Meeting discusses relationship with technology

Meeting takes place in the Caixa Geral de Depósitos Grand Auditorium, on the Gambelas Campus

The XXI Psychology Meeting, which takes place on the 20th of April, at the University of Algarve, will discuss the relationship between Psychology and Technology.

Organized by the Department of Psychology and Educational Sciences of the Faculty of Human and Social Sciences, the Meeting will take place in the Caixa Geral de Depósitos Grand Auditorium, on the Gambelas Campus.

After the opening session, Pedro Joel Rosa, associate professor at the Universidade Lusófona de Humanidades e Tecnologias and Instituto Superior Manuel Teixeira Gomes (ISMAT) and coordinator of the Laboratory of Experimental Psychology at ISMAT, will give a conference on the role of eye-tracking in research in Psychology, pointing out future trends in the application of this technique in studies carried out in the broad field of psychological science.

There will be four workshops, one for each thematic session: “Psychology of Education – Technology and career psychological intervention: challenges and effectiveness”, “Cognitive Neurosciences and Neuropsychology – The contribution of eye-tracking for the study of cognitive functioning”, “Social, Work and Organizational Psychology – For a sustainable future: Contributions of behavioral science and digital innovation” and “Clinical and Health Psychology – evidence-based ICT in Clinical and Health Psychology” .

As in previous editions, in addition to the scientific and training components, the Meeting also serves to strengthen ties between future psychologists and the partners who propose to host the curricular internships.

Dozens of institutions will have the opportunity to present their work in such a way that it becomes an opportunity for the finalists of Master's courses.

To this end, tables will be set up dedicated to Clinical and Health Psychology; Social, Work and Organizational Psychology; to Educational Psychology and also to Cognitive Neurosciences and Neuropsychology.
