VRSA returns to “RespirArte” to encourage artistic habits among young people

The second edition of the event will start on the 19th

Vila Real de Santo António is going to “RespirArte” between the 19th and 28th of April, through initiatives designed to stimulate and reinforce “the cultural and artistic habits” of young people in the municipality.

The second edition of this event promoted by the VRSA Chamber once again «gives students and their learning a voice, within the scope of the different disciplinary and curricular areas, which, with the support of their teachers, will be able to disseminate to the educational community and the community in general what they know and like to do».

«This is a very relevant initiative, since the municipality, in close collaboration with schools and teachers, is aware of how important it is to promote the dissemination of good practices and examples of the quality of student performance in a school context» , says Conceição Pires, VRSA City Councilor in charge of culture.

«This second edition of the project invites us to breathe life in all its facets: the human, the environmental, the artistic, the appreciative and, why not, also, to express an urgent cry for freedom, human justice, peace, nature... the pillars that justify human friendliness in its relationship with the environment», he adds.

«RespirArte» is also open to the community, making it possible to attend, in interior and exterior spaces of the city, various activities, in fields such as dance, theater and poetry, as well as painting, drawing, music, sculpture and video.

«This 2nd Edition of “RespirArte” also invites participants to establish a personal and inner connection with all forms of artistic expression, reconciling the aesthetic dimension with the ethical dimension, in an exaltation of art and life», according to the VRSA Chamber .

«It is through art that our vision of the world and of life becomes more comprehensible and broader, provided by the creativity and intelligence that is deposited in it. In the world we live in, it has never been so urgent to reassert the importance of human and artistic expressions to prevent the extinction of humanity and vehemently remember human values, so intentionally and dramatically forgotten», concludes Conceição Pires.

The “RespirArte” project was created by the municipal education division team for schools in the municipality of Vila Real de Santo António. Admission to all initiatives is free.
