VIDEO: Thousands of faithful in Loulé “pushed” the Sovereign Mother up the hill

Main religious festival in the south of the country returned to the streets of Loulé

 

The traditional Feast of the Sovereign Mother attracted thousands of pilgrims or simply curious people to Loulé, on the afternoon of this Sunday, April 23rd.

The highlight was, as always, the ascent of the slope, during which the bravest men helped the men on the litter to carry the image of Nossa Senhora da Piedade, or Sovereign Mother, to the sanctuary, amid cheers and jostling.

Report, right in the middle of the party, by Nilton Nunes, who was himself pushed by the crowd, but, with the help of the Sovereign Mother, survived to tell this beautiful story.
