The Association of Entrepreneurs of Quarteira and Vilamoura, leader of the Consortium of the Algarve Region, and the Association of Commerce, Services and Tourism of the District of Beja, leader of the Consortium of the Alentejo Region, are two of the seven winning consortia for the Acceleradoras do Comércio Digital, a program included in the Recovery and Resilience Plan (PRR), announced the Ministry of Economy and Sea.

The remaining five, for the same number of NUTS II regions, are the Confederation of Commerce and Services of Portugal (CCP), leader of the Northern Region Consortium, the Business Council of the Center/Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Center (Centro), the Association Portuguese Industrial – Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Lisbon), the Commercial and Industrial Association of Funchal, Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Madeira (Madeira) and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Ponta Delgada, Business Association of the Islands of São Miguel and Santa Maria (Azores).

According to the Ministry of Economy, this program, with a total allocation of 55 million euros, «will, throughout the national territory, train micro, small and medium-sized companies in commerce, services, catering and similar, in their development and maturity digital".

The scope of this measure will cover 30 thousand companies and will have several phases.

The digital commerce accelerators will thus carry out a diagnosis of the digital maturity of each company, prepare an individual strategic plan and support the acquisition of specific services and incentives within the scope of the Digital Transition Services Catalog.

The winning consortia correspond to the seven NUTS II regions that will then constitute a digital commerce accelerator in each of the NUTS III sub-regions, in a total of 25 accelerators across the country.
