Access walkway to the Museum of the Sea and Land of Carrapateira was reclassified

Structure was already "very degraded"

The Aljezur Council invested 45 thousand euros in the requalification of the access walkway to the Museum of the Sea and Land of Carrapateira, «a structure that was already very degraded».

The intervention consisted of «replacing the entire wooden floor» and «recovering the metal structure and its protection, which, due to the proximity of the sea, suffered high corrosion», according to the Aljezur Council.

The Museum of the Sea and the Land, in Carrapateira, is a cultural facility that portrays the life of this population linked to the Land and the Sea, and is part of the Pontal da Carrapateira Circuit, which makes known several points of historical interest, landscape , fauna and flora of the region.

The walkway now renovated, which also serves as a viewpoint, «is extremely important, as it guarantees access to the museum, with more safety and comfort».
