Nine men and two vessels suspected of drug trafficking seized off the coast of the Algarve

This was yet another joint mission by the National Maritime Authority, the Portuguese Navy and the Air Force.

Two high-speed boats, suspected of drug trafficking, were seized and nine men, all of Moroccan nationality, arrested, in a joint operation carried out on the night of this Wednesday, April 5, off the coast of the Algarve.

The vessels carried a «high quantity of fuel jerricans».

The approaches were carried out by a Maritime Police vessel, and another from the Navy, operated by marines.

The vessels and individuals were taken to the port of Faro to carry out investigations.
