Duarte Cordeiro, Minister for the Environment and Climate Action, inaugurated this Friday, March 31, the enhancement and rehabilitation work on the Aljezur stream.
During the visit, for which the media was not invited, the government official was able to visit one of the intervened sections along the stream.
«The person in charge of the project had the opportunity to explain the methodology and actions carried out in this intervention», says the Câmara de Aljezur.
Duarte Cordeiro also got to know other projects taking place in the Municipality of Aljezur, such as the Condominium of Aldeia de Vales and Vale da Telha, which has an investment from the Environmental Fund, and the Ecovia do Litoral Sudoeste between Odeceixe and Carrapateira, a work already started for an amount total investment of around 700 thousand euros.
José Gonçalves, Mayor of Aljezur, took the opportunity to express some concerns and challenges of the municipality of Aljezur and its residents, namely land use planning, Decree Law 82/2021 on the integrated management of rural fires, the measures implemented to mitigate the problem of water scarcity, the silting up of the Bordeira, Amoreira and Odeceixe streams, and also the challenge of Vale da Telha.
